Day Zero
Dina:
Earlier this week, Kelly and I had our nutrition consultation and she took all my measurements. Although I am not pleased at what those measurements were, I agreed to total disclosure. So here goes:
Neck: 13.5
Shoulders: 43.75
Chest: 41.5
Waist: 35
Hips: 42
Thigh - R: 24 L: 24.25
Calf - R: 15.75 L: 16.25
Bicep - R: 13.25 L: 13.25
Forearm - R: 11.0 L: 11.0
BMI: 30.4
Body Fat %: 36.1
Weight: 177.7 lbs
No excuses. Coming off a back injury but I could have made adjustments. I was 160 when I got hurt. Time to get serious.
Kelly:
Dina does have some work to do if she wants decrease her BMI and BF% along with her measurements. Although, she’s got GREAT symmetry throughout her measurements, when we start to see improvements, her body will have a beautiful shape to it and really should hang on to the great hourglass shape. Let’s get cracking already!!!
Dina:
It is the night before starting the nutrition and exercise program Kelly and I have outlined. My caloric intake will be about 1300+ calories. She has modified the plan to accommodate a lower fat diet, as I am currently on cholesterol medication and I would like to get to a place where I can safely stop taking those meds. I will be taking 2 kettlebell classes, one TRX class, a yoga class and walking on the days I do not have a class scheduled. I am shooting for some kind of workout at least 5 days a week. Of course, this is all in addition to managing my home, kicking off my business, taking care of my children and husband and most of all…staying focused.
...Feeling very anxious. First, we are just coming off of “Snowtober” and were without power for almost 72 hours. Second, I just do not want to fail. Not for anyone else but myself. This is an entire lifestyle change…something I will be encouraging my own clients to make. I need to believe it…feel it…live it. And I do. Sometimes, when you are on the verge of embarking on a great journey, your possible future success sometimes can paralyze you. Kelly and I have discussed this at length. I am feeling a little stopped in my tracks before I even get started but I think a good night’s sleep in a warm, heated, electrified house will improve my perspective.

If my guesstimates are correct, within 2 weeks Dina will FEEL improvements or as most clients put it “hmmmm, different?” and yes, it’s always in question format to me. Me, why ask me? I always find this to be amusing in a very endearing & proud way. It seems to be an emotion or “FEELing” we can’t truly describe. It’s like LOVE. What is love? Having any challenge in your life, in this case, fitness and nutrition, you should FEEL something and when you don’t think you can explain it…you’re absolutely heading down the right path! This FEELing of “different” is empowerment, success, knowledge, strategy, endorphins, hormones, health, attitude, positive reinforcement and in this case I would suspect Weight Loss/BMI & BF% decreasing. This FEELing is you reaching for your goal!
